Outreach and community engagement

We talk to schools, colleges and the wider community, giving advice and guidance about university life and the different entry routes to Abertay.

Outreach and community engagement

This is where we give your group information, advice and guidance about university life. It can mean talks or visits for school/college pupils, parents and all kinds of community groups.

These activities can make a huge difference and maybe even change a life, so contact us to talk about what we can do for you.

Visits to colleges and schools

Our initiatives aim to increase educational attainment, raise aspirations and provide information on the range of courses here at Abertay.  This includes:

  • Partnerships with SHEP schools programmes, such as Lift Off and ASPIRE North.

  • Working closely with college partners and SWAP East to provide transitional support.

  • Specific initiatives for students from underrepresented groups.

  • Offer Associate Degrees for students at Dundee and Angus College.

  • Support and guidance for Adult returners to education.

  • University experience days for college students, school pupils and community groups.

  • Information sessions about the different routes into university.

  • Deliver aspirational sessions to local schools (both on and off campus).

University experience days

University experience days are designed to inspire people, so they can experience what university has to offer.

We can host your group on campus - from school (S3 to S6), college, or anywhere in the community – for an activity day here at Abertay. Contact sro@abertay.ac.uk for more information.

Campus tours

Our guided campus tours are conducted by Student Ambassadors who will show you around and give you a real insight into student life here at Abertay.
